Natalia Parker "Tasha" Semler was a 14-year-old student at the Madeira School who was tortured and murdered on the school grounds in McLean by John S. Gilreath on October 29, 1973.[1] [2]

Her corpse was found tied to a tree early the next day by her father.[1]

Her murder partially inspired science fiction writer Alice B. Sheldon to write her short story "The Screwfly Solution", which she published using the pen name Raccoona Sheldon.
